Engineering/Maintenance Manager - Hilton Brand
The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with responsibility for the property, a strong background in building systems, preventative maintenance, and capital projects.
An Engineering/Maintenance Manager is responsible for working with the Assistant Maintenance personnel / General Maintenance to manage and coordinate all maintenance issues within the hotel.

Job Responsibilities
The Engineering/Maintenence Manager is responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Spot checks work to ensure standards are met and that building safety regulations are complied with
Assists in the documentation and maintenance of all required federal, state, county and city log and reports pertinent information to his departmental superiors. (i.e.: OSHA, Building and Safety)
Supervises installation and repair of new or complex equipment or building components. (i.e.: new wall surfaces, floor coverings, etc.), using blueprints and specifications. Test and evaluate new equipment or structures
Organizes maintenance, repair of all guestrooms through our Preventive Maintenance program, and updates the General Manager
Plans optimum times for area shut down for servicing
Directs leads, preventive maintenance team, Duty engineers and specialist instructing them, if necessary, in the performance of unfamiliar tasks. Primarily responsible for project execution and cosmetic repair and maintenance of the building
Remains up to date on electrical, fire, and building code provisions and on emergency procedures and phone numbers
Accompanying officials and insurance investigators in their visits to the facility, providing assistance and advice to contractors working in the hotel
Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function
Reporting of major repairs, items which cannot be repaired to the dispatch for further action, and if necessary, place a room out of order and room-move a guest
Responsible for maintenance issues within the hotel
Assigns, supervises, and verifies completion of routine maintenance and operation of the physical structure of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment, which contributes to the safe and effective operation of the facility
Visually inspects quality of work, assigns staff, and directs outside contractors in tasks according to performance and productivity standards
Hires, disciplines, counsels, trains engineering staff
Communicate effectively with city officials to ensure proper maintenance of permits and licenses, coordinating inspections with the appropriate department
Perform daily checks around the hotel
Diagnoses, maintains, and helps repair mechanical equipment within the hotel
Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers
Maintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations arise
Assists in developing, implementing, and directing all emergency programs
Assists in developing, implementing and managing energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses
Assists in the coordination of special projects within the hotel
Performs special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
Works with Director of Security and assists with health and safety protocols within the hotel
Ensures monthly safety inspections take place and employees are trained accordingly
Skills + Experience
To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
3+ years of progressive experience in building maintenance; hospitality preferred
Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering

Ability to work on their own
Previous experience in a management role within the Property Operations/Maintenance field

Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb (including ladders and stairs), reach and crawl in confined spaces continuously
Ability to operate and control electrical/mechanical equipment, (i.e.: meters, switchgear, boilers, pumps, chillers)
Ability to stand and walk on a continuous basis and run as warranted
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and be able to direct/escort them to various facilities and functions within the hotel
Ability to interact with guests and other employees in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner.
Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
